IDFC FIRST Bank has successfully priced a $350 million senior notes offering at a coupon rate of 5.80 percent, underscoring continued investor appetite for Indian financial sector paper in overseas markets.
The five-year bonds, issued through the bank's International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) Banking Unit in Gujarat, will mature in August 2031. The issuance follows the lender's $600 million international bond offering completed the previous week, reflecting aggressive capital-raising efforts by the private sector bank.
The senior notes represent unsecured obligations of the bank and demonstrate IDFC FIRST's ability to access global capital markets competitively. The IFSC route provides regulatory efficiency and tax benefits for international fundraising by Indian financial institutions.
The successive bond offerings underscore the bank's strategy to bolster its capital base and strengthen balance sheet metrics ahead of anticipated regulatory requirements and business expansion plans.
