IIFCL, two Coal India units set for D-Street listing in FY27

The Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM) has signalled its intention to bring three major state-owned enterprises to the capital markets during FY27, according to Secretary Arunish Chawla. The listings will encompass IIFCL and two units under Coal India Limited, India's largest coal producer.

The planned public offerings form part of the government's broader monetisation strategy aimed at unlocking value from state assets while deepening retail investor participation in the equity markets. The move underscores New Delhi's commitment to maintaining momentum in its divestment programme, which has gained significant traction over recent years.

Chal confirmed that the pace of stake sales and initial public offerings would persist into FY27, signalling the government's confidence in market conditions and investor appetite for quality public sector enterprises. The timing of the individual listings has not yet been specified, though regulatory approvals and market readiness will determine the final schedule.

The initiatives align with the government's broader economic objectives of improving corporate governance in public sector undertakings while generating funds for fiscal consolidation and infrastructure investment.
