Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad and Tata Institute of Social Sciences have rolled out a comprehensive induction programme targeting tribal students across their respective campuses. The scheme represents a collaborative effort by both institutions to enhance academic preparedness and institutional integration for students hailing from tribal backgrounds.
The induction initiative encompasses orientation sessions, mentorship components, and skill-development workshops tailored to address the specific needs of tribal scholars. Participants are exposed to campus facilities, academic expectations, and support services available to help them succeed in their chosen programmes.
Both institutions have positioned the programme as part of their broader commitment to inclusive education and diversity. The scheme aligns with government initiatives aimed at expanding access to quality higher education for underrepresented communities across India.
The induction activities are designed to build confidence among tribal students while fostering a sense of community within the campus environment. Officials from both IIT-Hyderabad and TISS have indicated that the programme will be conducted on a periodic basis to accommodate successive cohorts of students.
