IIT JAM 2027 Registration Window Extended to October 24

The IIT system has announced a final extension of the registration deadline for IIT JAM 2027, allowing aspiring candidates an additional window to submit their applications by October 24, 2026. The postponement provides relief to students who may have missed earlier submission dates, as the entrance examination serves as a gateway for admission to postgraduate science programmes across the country's premier technical institutions.

Candidates seeking admission to Master's degree programmes in disciplines including Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Geology, Geophysics, and Biotechnology must complete their registrations within the extended timeline. The examination is conducted annually to identify talented scholars for advanced study at IITs and other participating institutions.

Prospective applicants are advised to visit the official IIT JAM portal to complete the registration process. The application procedure requires candidates to furnish personal details, educational qualifications, and examination preferences. Applicants must also pay the requisite application fee as per the notification guidelines.

The entrance examination is typically held in February each year, with results announced in the following months. Eligible candidates are shortlisted for counselling and admission based on their performance in the examination. The extension of the registration deadline is intended to ensure maximum participation from qualified candidates across India's academic institutions.
