IIT Mandi investigates caste-based poster controversy at campus
Indian Institute of Technology Mandi has launched a probe into a poster displayed on campus that categorized society according to Vedic varna classifications. The institute's director attributed the controversy to differing interpretations by some students.

The controversy centred on a poster titled "Bhagavad Gita - The Timeless Wisdom" that was exhibited outside the institute's auditorium. The poster depicted society's traditional division into four categories: Brahmanas, Kshatriyas, Vaishyas and Shudras, drawing criticism for its apparent endorsement of the historical caste hierarchy.
