Authorities in Uttar Pradesh's Bagpat district have launched a major enforcement drive against illegal explosives and firecrackers ahead of the Diwali festival season. The operation resulted in the discovery of an unlicensed bomb-making factory operating across the Baleni and Singhawali Ahir police station areas.
During raids conducted across the district, police seized more than 500 kilograms of explosive materials, gunpowder, and substantial quantities of banned firecrackers. The recovery represents a significant haul of contraband materials that posed serious public safety risks during the festive season.
Police have arrested 12 individuals in connection with the illegal operation, with suspects linked to Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, and Punjab. The multi-state network indicates an organized operation for the distribution of illegal explosives and firecrackers across the region.
The action comes as law enforcement agencies across northern India intensify efforts to combat illegal firecracker manufacturing and distribution ahead of Diwali, when demand for such materials typically surges despite strict regulations.
