CALASIAO, Pangasinan — The Ilocos region is gearing up for the All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day observance by deploying approximately 14,000 security and emergency personnel across the region, according to Police Maj. Cherry Tolentino, chief of the Police Regional Office I public information office.
The coordinated deployment will focus on strengthening public safety measures and ensuring road security during the two-day holiday period on November 1 and 2. The operation underscores the regional government's commitment to maintaining order and preventing accidents as large numbers of residents and visitors travel to cemeteries.
The Undas season traditionally sees increased vehicular traffic and crowding in public spaces, prompting authorities to implement comprehensive safety protocols. The mobilization encompasses personnel from various law enforcement and emergency response agencies working in coordination to address potential public safety concerns.
Regional officials said the personnel deployment represents a significant security presence aimed at managing the anticipated high volume of holiday travelers and cemetery visitors across the Ilocos region during the observance period.
