Ilocos Norte declared special holiday for Marcos Sr. birth anniversary
The Philippine government has proclaimed September 11 a special non-working day in Ilocos Norte to commemorate the 109th birth anniversary of former President Ferdinand Marcos Sr. The declaration was issued through Proclamation No. 1421 signed by Acting Executive Secretary Ralph Cusiodio.

Malacañang announced the special holiday through an official proclamation released on Tuesday, September 8. The observance recognizes the birth of Ferdinand Edralin Marcos Sr., father of incumbent President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
The declaration applies specifically to Ilocos Norte province, the ancestral home region of the Marcos family. Government offices and private institutions in the province are expected to observe the holiday on Friday, September 11.
Proclamation No. 1421 was signed by Acting Executive Secretary Ralph Cusiodio on behalf of the executive branch. Similar regional holidays have been declared in various provinces throughout the Philippines to commemorate significant historical figures and events.
