CALASIAO, Pangasinan — The Regional Development Council for Ilocos Region has given the go-ahead to 30 priority development projects valued at P5.497 billion for fiscal year 2028, signalling a significant push to accelerate growth across the northern Philippines region.
La Union Governor Mario Eduardo C. Ortega, who chairs the council, confirmed the approval of the project portfolio, which focuses on strengthening foundational sectors essential for regional advancement. The initiative encompasses improvements in health services, transport infrastructure and digital connectivity, areas identified as critical to boosting economic development and quality of life.
The approved projects represent a coordinated regional strategy to address infrastructure gaps and service delivery challenges. By concentrating investment across health, transportation and communications networks, the council aims to create improved conditions for business activity and better access to essential services for residents across the Ilocos region.
