Immigration firm CEO arrest triggers flood of complaints across Kerala

The arrest of a chief executive officer running an immigration consultancy in Kochi has set off a cascade of fresh complaints, with law enforcement officials reporting they have documented at least 25 cases against the firm from various parts of Kerala.

Investigating officers said the surge in complaints began following media coverage of the initial arrest. Many of the allegations centre on fraudulent practices and misrepresentation of visa processes and immigration services, according to police statements.

The case has raised concerns about the operations of immigration firms across the state, particularly regarding the handling of client funds and the authenticity of promised overseas placements and visa assistance.

Police have urged additional complainants to file formal reports and provide documentation of their dealings with the firm. Authorities said they are working to establish the full scope of the alleged scheme and determine whether other officials at the company were involved in the fraudulent activities.

The investigation is ongoing, with police examining financial records and client documentation to substantiate the claims. Officials indicated they may recommend further arrests as the probe progresses.
