The Immigration Department (JIM) has shut down a transport service allegedly operating as a conduit for illegal immigrants across the Klang Valley region. The operation, which ran van services between Kajang and Putrajaya, was exposed following a targeted enforcement action by immigration officials.
Investigations revealed that drivers employed by the service were earning substantial monthly incomes of up to RM1,800, suggesting a systematic and profitable operation. The service appeared to have established routes and regular operations transporting undocumented migrants, indicating a degree of organisation within the network.
The bust forms part of ongoing efforts by JIM to combat human trafficking and irregular migration across Malaysia. Officials have intensified operations against networks that facilitate the movement of undocumented persons, viewing such transport services as key infrastructure supporting illegal immigration activities.
The department did not immediately disclose the number of individuals apprehended or vehicles seized during the operation. Investigations are continuing to determine the full scale of the smuggling network and identify other potential associates involved in the scheme.
