PUTRAJAYA — The Immigration Department apprehended 84 undocumented foreign nationals during coordinated raids at Pangsapuri Putra, a residential complex in Putrajaya, the department announced on Wednesday.
The enforcement operation, conducted under the Ops Pintu initiative, was executed in two phases to systematically sweep the residential complex commonly known as the 'Green Flats'. The operation targeted individuals suspected of violating immigration laws and overstaying in Malaysia.
The detainees have been taken into custody for further investigation and processing. The Immigration Department regularly conducts such enforcement operations nationwide as part of efforts to combat illegal immigration and ensure compliance with Malaysia's immigration regulations.
Ops Pintu, the department's targeted enforcement programme, focuses on high-risk areas and facilities where undocumented migrants are believed to be residing. The operation underscores the government's commitment to maintaining border security and protecting employment opportunities for Malaysian citizens and documented foreign workers.
