India adds pace bowler Akib Nabi to full ODI squad for New Zealand tour

India has made a significant adjustment to its ODI squad ahead of the New Zealand tour, extending fast bowler Akib Nabi's involvement to the opening three matches of the series. The move represents a strategic shift from the earlier squad announcement, which had limited the pace bowler to appearances in only the fourth and fifth ODIs.
The inclusion of Nabi in the initial three-match phase suggests the Indian team management has identified a need for additional fast bowling depth during the early stages of the series. The decision reflects ongoing squad optimization as India prepares for the bilateral ODI contest.
This amendment to the squad composition underscores the selectors' confidence in Nabi's ability to contribute across the full series, rather than reserve him solely for later matches. The restructured bowling lineup will now provide India with enhanced options during the crucial opening ODIs against the New Zealand side.
