The INDIA bloc delegation is scheduled to meet the President at 8 pm, according to confirmation from the President's office received Friday morning. The opposition coalition has mounted a sustained campaign against Kumar, with MPs staging protests in New Delhi for three consecutive days demanding his removal.
The ten-member delegation will include Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, and Trinamool Congress Chairperson Mamata Banerjee, among other senior opposition leaders. The visit represents a significant escalation in the opposition's push to address what they contend are irregularities in the electoral revision process.
The opposition parties have cited concerns over the methodology and implementation of the Special Intensive Revision, claiming the process has compromised electoral integrity. Their decision to approach the President directly underscores the urgency with which the INDIA bloc is pursuing the matter, moving beyond parliamentary protests to seek intervention at the highest constitutional level.
