The INDIA bloc alliance is set to march to the Election Commission of India (ECI) offices today to formally raise concerns over the Gyanesh Kumar row, intensifying pressure on the poll body amid an ongoing political dispute. The opposition coalition plans to present its grievances regarding the matter directly to the commission.
In anticipation of the demonstration, Delhi Police has imposed stringent traffic and security measures across key areas of central Delhi. Traffic regulation and diversions have been put in place around Connaught Place, Patel Chowk, Parliament Street, and the Patel Chowk-General Post Office stretch, along with adjoining localities. The restrictions are expected to remain in effect throughout the day to manage vehicular movement and maintain order.
Heavy police deployment has been positioned across the affected zones to ensure the march proceeds smoothly while minimizing disruption to the public. Authorities have coordinated with the march organisers to facilitate the demonstration while maintaining traffic flow in one of Delhi's busiest commercial and administrative hubs.
The march represents a significant show of opposition unity on the issue, bringing together various parties within the INDIA alliance to register their collective protest with the electoral authority. The ECI, meanwhile, is preparing to receive the delegation.
