India-born US citizen named in FBI's most wanted fraud roster

A naturalised American citizen originally from India has been placed on the Federal Bureau of Investigation's most wanted list following allegations of large-scale benefits fraud, law enforcement officials said. The suspect, identified as Manjit Bedi, allegedly operated a small grocery store in Tacoma, Washington, where he is accused of running an illegal scheme involving Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) cards.

According to the investigation, Bedi would accept customers' government-issued benefits cards and provide them with cash in exchange rather than food items as intended by the federal assistance programme.
