India claims trap shooting silver at Asian Games, men struggle in team event
Indian women shooters secured a silver medal in the trap team competition at the Asian Games, though the men's contingent endured disappointment with a sixth-place finish in the team standings.

The Indian women's trap team delivered a strong performance to claim the silver medal at the ongoing Asian Games on Tuesday. The trio of Neeru Dhanda, Aashima Ahlawat and Manisha Keer combined for a total of 328 points to finish second behind China, which topped the standings with 346 points. Kuwait rounded out the podium with a bronze medal, recording 325 points.
Dhanda emerged as a standout performer for India, notching 118 points to finish joint-top alongside Qatar's Ray Bassil in the individual competition. Her score marked a new Games qualification record for the event. Ahlawat and Keer contributed 106 and 104 points respectively to the team total. In individual play, Ahlawat secured 16th place while Keer finished 23rd.
The Indian men's trap team failed to replicate the women's success, finishing sixth among ten competing nations. The team's sole bright spot came from 24-year-old Shapath Bharadwaj of Meerut, who qualified for the eight-shooter final after securing eighth place in the individual standings through a shoot-off.
