India's Ministry of External Affairs issued a formal statement on Sunday expressing grave concern over the assault on Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport, describing the recurring incidents as "completely unacceptable and must cease immediately." The attack on October 10 marked the latest in a series of strikes targeting the facility.
"We strongly condemn the repeated attacks on Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport over the past few days, which have led to loss of lives, injuries and damage to property," the MEA stated. The ministry extended condolences to bereaved families while wishing swift recovery for the injured.
Saudi authorities have attributed the assault to Houthi militants. In response, New Delhi reiterated its commitment to the kingdom's territorial integrity and security, stating: "We stand in solidarity with the people and the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in defence of their sovereignty."
The Indian government called for a swift restoration of peace and stability in the region, underscoring its concern over the escalating violence affecting civilian populations and critical infrastructure in the Arabian Peninsula.
