India is prepared to navigate what External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar described as an "age of flux" characterised by geopolitical turbulence and economic uncertainty, he said on Tuesday.
"This is going to be an age of flux. It is going to be turbulent and volatile, with uncertainties," Jaishankar said, pointing to multiple global flashpoints as evidence of the shifting international landscape. He specifically highlighted the ongoing major conflicts alongside other regional frictions that are reshaping global dynamics.
The minister identified several pressures weighing on the global economy, including the impact of non-market factors and volatility in tariff regimes. These structural challenges, he suggested, reflect the broader instability characterizing international trade and investment flows.
Despite these headwinds, Jaishankar expressed confidence in India's capacity to rise to the challenges posed by the evolving global order. His remarks underscore New Delhi's approach of acknowledging external constraints while maintaining strategic optimism about the country's ability to advance its interests during a period of significant international transition.
