India crushes Sri Lanka to advance to Asian Games cricket final

India booked their place in the T20 cricket final at the ongoing Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan, with a commanding performance against Sri Lanka on Thursday. The decisive victory sets up a gold medal showdown between India and Pakistan in the tournament's headline match.

India's emphatic 124-run margin of victory came against a Sri Lankan side that struggled to match their opponents' intensity throughout the contest. The win underscores India's strong form in the competition and their credentials as title contenders heading into the final.

The India-Pakistan cricket fixture is anticipated to draw significant attention across South Asia, given the intense sporting rivalry between the two nations. Both teams have demonstrated their competitive strength through the earlier rounds of the Asian Games T20 tournament.

The gold medal match will be contested as part of the Asian Games' cricket programme, which has become one of the marquee events of the multisport competition. India's progression caps a successful campaign for the Indian cricket contingent in Nagoya.
