India Dismisses Pakistan-China Boundary Commission as Legally Invalid

India's Ministry of External Affairs has formally rejected what it characterised as a Pakistan-China Boundary Joint Commission, stating that the body operates without any legal basis.

The MEA's position centres on India's assertion that no internationally recognised boundary exists between Pakistan and China. Officials emphasised that any arrangement or commission involving these two nations regarding territories claimed by India cannot be legitimised under international law.

New Delhi has consistently maintained that Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are integral and inalienable parts of India. The ministry reiterated this stance in its latest statement, underscoring that these regions shall remain so regardless of external claims or arrangements.

The rejection reflects India's long-standing position on territorial disputes in the region. New Delhi has previously contested various bilateral agreements and arrangements between neighbouring countries that it views as impinging on Indian sovereignty or territorial integrity.

India's statement appears aimed at firmly signalling to the international community that it does not recognise any third-party arrangements affecting territories it considers its own, particularly in the sensitive Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh regions.
