The Ministry of Home Affairs has prolonged the stationing of 270 companies of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) in the national capital, marking the third extension of the deployment announced this month. The decision was taken to ensure security and maintain public order during the Opposition INDIA bloc's scheduled rally at the Ramlila Grounds on November 1, as well as anticipated protests and festival celebrations expected throughout the period.
The paramilitary forces, which include personnel from various CAPF units, have been deployed across sensitive locations and key administrative areas in Delhi. Officials indicated that the extended deployment reflects precautionary measures to manage potential crowd gatherings and maintain traffic and public safety during the politically significant period.
The Home Ministry cited the need to coordinate with local law enforcement agencies and district administration to handle the anticipated surge in public activities. The extension underscores the government's focus on maintaining calm during sensitive periods marked by political gatherings and cultural festivities in the capital.
