India faces relentless schedule as New Zealand tour begins in Christchurch

India's cricket contingent is embarking on a gruelling international tour with barely a pause between commitments. The team concluded its Asian Games assignment in Japan on October 3, followed by a demanding five-match domestic series that ran through October and concluded in Bengaluru on October 17. With just four days separating the end of that series, the squad now faces the challenge of competing in New Zealand starting in Christchurch. The compressed schedule leaves minimal time for travel, acclimatisation, or tactical preparation ahead of the tour. Cricket boards frequently cite player welfare concerns over back-to-back international assignments, yet fixture congestion remains a persistent feature of the modern game. India will need to quickly adjust to New Zealand conditions and the demands of touring in the Southern Hemisphere. The squad's ability to manage fatigue and maintain performance levels will be tested immediately as the tour commences.
