India grounds training aircraft across seven states for BRICS summit security
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation has imposed a three-day ban on flying activities at training schools across northern and central India during the BRICS Summit in Delhi. The restrictions affect Flying Training Organisations in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh from September 11-13.

India's aviation regulator has temporarily grounded all aircraft operated by flying training schools across seven states as part of enhanced security measures for the BRICS Summit being held in the national capital. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation issued the directive on September 7, prohibiting all flying activities from 7 am on September 11 through 11 pm on September 13.
The restrictions cover all aircraft types, including light and micro-light aircraft, hang gliders and helicopters operated by Flying Training Organisations located in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh. The DGCA's communication explicitly states that no aircraft is permitted to take off from any training school in these states during the specified period.
The sweeping ban reflects the security protocols implemented for the high-profile international summit, which brings together leaders from the five-nation BRICS bloc. The DGCA approval of the restrictions indicates the measures have been coordinated with relevant security agencies to maintain airspace control during the summit period.
Flying training schools have been instructed to comply with the temporary suspension of operations, which will resume after the conclusion of the summit on September 13.
