India Hits Back at Pakistan Over UN 'Falsehoods' on Kashmir
India's UN envoy has sharply criticized Pakistan's statements at the General Assembly, accusing Islamabad of spreading falsehoods and warning of consequences for continued terror activities. The rebuke came after Pakistan's Prime Minister raised the Kashmir issue during his address.

India exercised its Right of Reply on Friday evening following remarks by Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the United Nations General Assembly, where he credited US President Donald Trump with intervening in the 2025 conflict between the two nations and revived the Kashmir dispute.
Petal Gahlot, First Secretary at India's Permanent Mission to the UN, delivered a pointed response, accusing Pakistan of hypocrisy on democratic values and human rights. "We heard some hypocritical homilies about democratic rights and human values from a regime whose capital at this very moment is being fortified against its own people," Gahlot stated.
The Indian envoy characterized Pakistan's power structure as military-dominated, asserting that civilian leaders serve as intermediaries rather than decision-makers. "This is a regime of the army, by the army, and for the army. Their puppets may come and go but let us have no illusion who calls the shots," Gahlot remarked.
India's statement underscored New Delhi's rejection of Pakistan's diplomatic narrative and signaled that continued terrorism and cross-border activities would invite consequences. The exchange reflected escalating rhetoric between the nuclear-armed nations at the international forum over longstanding disputes.
