India launches Centre of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence with startup cohort

The Centre of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence (CAIK), backed by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), will be formally launched on Wednesday as India accelerates its efforts to develop domestic artificial intelligence capabilities. The facility represents a strategic initiative to foster innovation, conduct cutting-edge research, and create an enabling ecosystem for AI-driven technologies across the country.

A cornerstone of the launch event will be the unveiling of CAIK's first cohort comprising 15 startups.
