India has demonstrated resilience in the face of international economic challenges, with Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman attributing the nation's strong 7.8 per cent quarterly growth to structural reforms and favourable policy measures. Speaking at a high-level business roundtable organised by the Consulate General of India in New York in partnership with Bank of America, Sitharaman described the expansion as a "remarkable" performance that underscores India's economic strength.
Addressing a gathering of international investors, Sitharaman emphasised that India continues to outpace other major economies despite prevailing global disruptions. The growth trajectory reflects the government's commitment to maintaining macroeconomic stability while pursuing developmental objectives, officials said.
Sitharaman noted that India's regulatory environment has undergone substantial improvements through a series of comprehensive reforms. These measures have enhanced business certainty and attracted sustained investor interest in the Indian market. The Finance Minister's remarks came during a visit to the United States, where she had participated in the G20 finance ministerial meeting held in Asheville, North Carolina, prior to her engagement with the investor community in New York.
The continued economic expansion positions India favourably among global economies as it navigates an uncertain international environment marked by trade tensions and monetary policy shifts across major developed nations.
