India marks historic milestone with Visegrad Group foreign ministers

India has reached a new diplomatic milestone with the inaugural foreign ministers meeting of the V4+India forum, marking an important step in strengthening ties with Central European nations. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar characterised the occasion as historic, underscoring New Delhi's commitment to engaging with this influential regional bloc.

The Visegrad Group, formed by the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia, functions as a cultural and political alliance focused on advancing cooperation in critical domains including military affairs, economic development, cultural exchange, and energy security. The group has emerged as a significant player in European affairs, and India's formal engagement at the ministerial level signals intent to expand bilateral relations beyond traditional partnerships.
