The All India Football Federation has announced a 26-member squad for India's upcoming international friendlies, with the Blue Tigers set to compete against three high-profile opponents across the FIFA international window next month. Head coach Khalid Jamil named the group on Monday as India prepares for matches against Panama, Brazil and Uruguay—all nations that competed in the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
India will begin their campaign at home, hosting Panama on September 26 at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru before embarking on a tour to Kolkata. The team will face five-time world champions Brazil on October 3, followed by an encounter with two-time champions Uruguay on October 6. The squad will commence its national camp in Bengaluru on September 14, relocating to Kolkata on September 28 after the Panama fixture.
The three-match series represents a stern examination for Jamil's developing side, particularly against Brazil and Uruguay, two of international football's most decorated teams. The fixtures will provide valuable assessment opportunities as the coach evaluates his squad's readiness for future continental and qualifying assignments. Playing against World Cup nations offers India exposure to elite-level competition as the team continues its progression in the FIFA rankings.
