India reaffirms commitment to combating terrorism on 9/11 anniversary

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday commemorated the 9/11 terror attacks, acknowledging the profound loss of life and expressing India's solidarity with affected families. Modi underscored that terrorism has exacted an enormous toll globally, claiming countless lives across nations and regions. He positioned India as a frontline victim of cross-border terrorism, stating that the country has led international efforts to combat this threat for several decades.

"Terrorism in all its forms and manifestations remains an unacceptable scourge that demands collective action," Modi said in his statement. He reaffirmed India's unwavering opposition to terrorism despite the evolving nature of security threats, emphasizing that the nation stands "in solidarity with all efforts to combat this scourge."

Modi's tribute included references to his 2014 visit to the 9/11 Memorial and Museum in New York, where he paid respects to those lost in the attacks.
