India rejects OIC criticism, blames Pakistan for anti-India statements

The Ministry of External Affairs on Monday rejected what it characterised as anti-India references in statements by the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, accusing Pakistan of orchestrating the remarks. A spokesperson for the MEA stated that such interventions were rooted in "politically motivated propaganda" and lacked legitimacy.

The Indian government reaffirmed its position that the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are integral and inalienable parts of India. Officials emphasised that external commentary on these matters, whether multilateral or bilateral, cannot alter India's constitutional status over these regions.

The statement reflects New Delhi's long-standing approach to international criticism regarding its administrative structure in the two Union Territories. India has consistently maintained that matters pertaining to its internal governance fall outside the purview of international organisations, particularly those it views as influenced by neighbouring countries.

The latest exchange underscores ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan, with the latter regularly raising concerns about Kashmir at international forums including the OIC. India has repeatedly dismissed such efforts as interference in its internal affairs and counter-productive to regional stability.
