India's Ministry of External Affairs on Monday firmly rejected several anti-India references contained in resolutions passed during an Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) foreign ministers meeting, characterizing them as part of a coordinated campaign led by Pakistan. Government officials described the references as "biased and false," dismissing them as attempts to interfere in India's domestic affairs.
The Indian government reiterated its longstanding position that international organizations like the OIC have no mandate to comment on matters that fall within India's sovereign domain. Officials emphasized that India does not accept external pressure or commentary on issues related to its internal governance and domestic policies.
The rejection comes amid ongoing diplomatic tensions between India and Pakistan, which holds significant influence within the OIC bloc of predominantly Muslim-majority nations. The latest exchange reflects the persistent friction between the two countries at multilateral forums, where Pakistan has repeatedly raised concerns about India at various international platforms.
New Delhi's statement underscores India's consistent approach of firmly pushing back against what it views as unjustified criticism at international bodies, particularly when backed by Pakistan. The government has maintained that India's domestic affairs should remain shielded from external scrutiny and interference by multilateral organizations.
