The Engineering Export Promotion Council (EEPC) has projected that shipments will reach an all-time high of $150 billion in FY27, up substantially from $122 billion in the previous fiscal year, EEPC Chairman Pankaj Chadha announced on Monday.
Exports have demonstrated strong momentum in the opening half of the current financial year, with shipments rising approximately 20 per cent to $70.87 billion during the April-September period. Key markets such as the United States are showing particularly healthy growth trajectories, indicating sustained international demand for Indian engineering products.
The anticipated expansion is being bolstered by increased shipments in critical sectors, including iron and steel products and machinery, which are expected to serve as primary growth drivers for the sector. The surge reflects the competitiveness of Indian engineering goods in global markets and growing buyer confidence in domestic manufacturers.
Reaching the $150 billion target would represent a significant achievement for India's engineering export industry and underscores the sector's importance to the country's broader trade objectives and economic growth agenda.
