India's FDI inflows hit record $94.53 billion in 2025-26

India's investment landscape has strengthened significantly, with annual FDI inflows hitting a record $94.53 billion in fiscal 2025-26. The milestone reflects sustained investor confidence in the country's economic fundamentals and business environment, said Goyal on Friday.

Cumulative foreign direct investment flows from fiscal 2014-15 through 2025-26 have reached $843 billion, underscoring India's emergence as a preferred investment destination in the region. The sustained inflow of capital has supported infrastructure development, technological advancement, and job creation across multiple sectors.

Government incentive schemes have played a catalytic role in attracting investment and boosting domestic manufacturing. The Production Linked Incentive (PLI) schemes have mobilised Rs 2.40 lakh crore in actual investments while generating Rs 23.8 lakh crore in production and sales, and Rs 15.2 lakh crore in exports as of March 31. The initiatives have also created over 14.6 lakh direct and indirect jobs.

Electronics, telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, automobiles, IT hardware, and specialty steel sectors have emerged as key beneficiaries of the PLI framework. These performance-linked incentives have enabled Indian manufacturers to enhance competitiveness and expand their footprint in global supply chains.
