Misri is visiting Nepal from November 4-5 at the invitation of Nepal's Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai, according to a statement from Nepal's Foreign Ministry. During his stay, the Indian foreign secretary is expected to hold bilateral discussions with his Nepalese counterpart and is likely to meet with Prime Minister Shah.
The visit comes as Nepal prepares for Shah's first official bilateral trip to India since he assumed office in March. According to Foreign Ministry sources in Kathmandu, the Nepalese prime minister is scheduled to visit India in the last week of November, though the dates have not yet been formally announced.
During Misri's visit, both sides are expected to review the full spectrum of Nepal-India relations and discuss matters of mutual interest. The discussions aim to further strengthen the longstanding close and friendly ties between the two neighbouring countries, the Foreign Ministry statement said.
The engagement underscores the importance both nations place on bilateral relations, with the preparatory visit providing an opportunity to outline key topics and ensure smooth coordination for the prime minister's upcoming trip.
