Deloitte India has significantly raised its growth forecast for fiscal year 2026-27 to between 7.1 and 7.3 per cent, up from its earlier projection of 6.5-6.8 per cent. The upgraded outlook reflects confidence in sustained private consumption and an anticipated revival in private investment as economic conditions continue to improve across the country.
The positive revision underscores expectations that private sector activity will gain momentum in the coming fiscal year, supported by resilient domestic demand and improved business sentiment. India's economic fundamentals have demonstrated resilience despite global uncertainties, providing the foundation for the stronger growth trajectory that Deloitte has now incorporated into its projections.
However, the consulting firm has cautioned that geopolitical risks present potential challenges to the growth outlook. International tensions and global trade dynamics could impact India's export performance and foreign investment inflows, warranting careful monitoring in the months ahead.
The forecast comes at a time when policymakers and investors are closely tracking the trajectory of Asia's third-largest economy. Deloitte's upgraded projection aligns with broader expectations among analysts that India's economy will maintain its position as one of the world's fastest-growing major economies.
