India's C-suite and senior leadership ranks are experiencing significant mobility, with 94 per cent of executives indicating openness to new career opportunities, according to a comprehensive talent survey released Wednesday.
The Executive Compensation and Talent Trends Report, based on interviews with over 1,200 senior leaders and C-level executives, found that executives are increasingly willing to change roles in pursuit of faster career progression, broader responsibilities, and greater impact. The shift reflects a rapidly transforming leadership landscape as organizations struggle to retain top talent amid competitive pressures.
The appetite for mobility extends beyond passive interest. The survey revealed that 63 per cent of senior leaders are actively pursuing new positions, while 41 per cent do not expect to remain in their current roles beyond the next year. These figures underscore the growing tension between organizational needs for stability and executive aspirations for advancement.
Organizations across India are facing mounting pressure to address retention challenges at the senior level. The findings suggest that companies must accelerate career development pathways and expand leadership opportunities to keep experienced executives engaged, or risk losing them to competitors seeking fresh talent and new challenges.
