India's Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has successfully validated the T-SHUL BEAM system, a man-portable counter-drone platform designed to neutralize airborne threats in contested environments. The system was tested at the Pokhran range in Rajasthan, validating its technical specifications and operational readiness.
According to IG Defence sources, the T-SHUL BEAM operates through directional radio-frequency countermeasures that disrupt the critical communication and navigation systems of hostile unmanned aerial vehicles. The system is engineered to target multiple drone control channels simultaneously, including command links, telemetry signals, video feeds, and GPS-based navigation systems, effectively rendering target aircraft inoperable.
The successful trial represents a significant milestone for India's indigenous defence capabilities, particularly as unmanned systems become increasingly prevalent in modern conflict scenarios.
