The upward trajectory has continued into 2026, with 7.8 crore challans recorded during the first nine months of the year alone. This pace suggests that the annual figure could exceed previous year totals, underlining the intensifying focus on traffic law enforcement across Indian roads.
The rapid expansion in challan issuance coincides with increased digitization of traffic enforcement and stricter implementation of traffic rules by road authorities.
