India's women's hockey team demolishes Indonesia 17-1 at Asiad 2026
India's women's hockey team continued its dominant run at the Asian Games with a crushing 17-1 victory over Indonesia on Monday, securing a second successive Pool B triumph.

Young forward Deepika Sehrawat led the Indian onslaught with a hat-trick, converting three penalty corners in the 8th, 28th and 40th minutes. The 22-year-old has now netted eight goals across two matches, having scored eight in India's 19-0 rout of Uzbekistan in the opening fixture.
Deepika was ably supported by teammates Rutuja Dadaso Pisal and Navneet Kaur, who each added three goals. Pisal found the net through field play in the 15th, 20th and 38th minutes, while Navneet struck in the 35th, 56th and 57th minutes. Additional goals came from Sunelita Toppo and Lalremsiami with two apiece, Sakshi Rana with two, and captain Salima Tete and Ishika Chaudhary with one each.
Indonesia's Innes Aditiya scored a consolation goal in the 32nd minute to avoid a shutout. The lopsided victory highlighted India's strong form in the early stages of the tournament, as the team maintains its unbeaten record in Pool B.
India will next face Thailand in Pool B action on Wednesday as it seeks to maintain its perfect record at the Games.
