India-Sri Lanka trade flows are gaining momentum through the implementation of their bilateral free trade agreement, according to India's Consul General Priyanga Wickramasinghe. The preferential trade framework has opened new avenues for commercial exchange between the two South Asian economies, facilitating increased business activity across multiple sectors.
The Consul General's remarks underscore the role of the FTA in reducing trade barriers and encouraging investment flows between New Delhi and Colombo. The agreement, which streamlines tariff schedules and trade procedures, has created more favourable conditions for exporters and importers on both sides of the maritime border.
