India, Sri Lanka launch first formal cyber-security consultations

A delegation led by Dr. Sanjay Bahl, Director General of India's Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-India), and Amit Shukla, Joint Secretary for Cyber Diplomacy at India's Ministry of External Affairs, conducted the inaugural cyber consultations in Colombo this week.
The visit represents a significant step in deepening bilateral cooperation on cyber-security matters, positioning both nations to address emerging digital threats in tandem. The consultations are expected to facilitate knowledge-sharing, capacity-building initiatives, and coordinated responses to cyber incidents affecting either country.
The engagement forms part of a broader partnership framework encompassing digitalization and emerging technologies. India and Sri Lanka have identified artificial intelligence and digital innovation as key areas for future collaboration, with cyber-security serving as a foundational element for safe and secure technological advancement.
