India steps up border readiness as China standoff persists in Arunachal Pradesh

The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) has officially acknowledged a sustained standoff with Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) personnel in Arunachal Pradesh that began in July, according to ITBP Director General Satruджit Kapoor. The confirmation comes as tensions remain elevated across several sectors of the disputed border region.

In response to the prolonged confrontation, the ITBP has escalated its operational preparedness through a multi-faceted approach. The paramilitary force has deployed drone platoons for surveillance operations, intensified combat training protocols, and undertaken construction of underground bunker systems at strategic locations along the frontier.

The standoff represents part of the broader India-China border dispute that has periodically flared into direct confrontations. The latest tensions underscore the persistent military posturing in the region, with both nations maintaining significant deployments along the disputed boundary. Indian security officials have emphasized their readiness to respond to any developments along the frontier.

The ITBP, tasked with guarding India's borders with Tibet and China, has historically been at the forefront of managing such confrontations. The force's enhanced defensive measures reflect New Delhi's commitment to maintaining its territorial position while avoiding escalation of the standoff.
