State education officials have been tasked with formulating a roadmap to elevate all schools to at least four-star status within the next five years, according to directives from the state's education minister. The ambitious initiative seeks to standardize educational infrastructure and learning environments across the region.
As part of the upgrade programme, authorities plan to develop 1,000 schools as five-star institutions, setting the highest standards for facilities and amenities. An additional 175 schools will be converted into LEAP (Leading Educational and Administrative Practices) facilities, which are designed to serve as model institutions demonstrating best practices in school management and academics.
The government has emphasized the urgency of infrastructure development in Agency areas, where schools have historically faced resource constraints. Officials have been directed to expedite construction and renovation works in these regions to ensure equitable access to quality educational facilities across all communities.
The plan represents a significant commitment to educational infrastructure development, addressing longstanding disparities in school facilities. Officials are expected to present detailed implementation timelines and budget requirements as part of the comprehensive roadmap for the upgradation initiative.
