The Indian government confirmed on Wednesday that it is following developments from talks being held in Tehran, where Pakistan is among the participants engaged in discussions aimed at de-escalating tensions across the Middle East and South Asia regions.

The talks are understood to be centred on efforts to broker a ceasefire agreement between Saudi Arabia and Yemen's Houthi group, with Iran playing a key role in the mediation process. Sources indicate that the negotiations are part of broader efforts to stabilise the volatile geopolitical landscape in West Asia.

A government spokesperson in New Delhi said India remains engaged with all stakeholders in the region and is committed to supporting any credible diplomatic initiatives that promote peace and stability. The country has traditionally maintained that regional issues should be resolved through dialogue and multilateral cooperation.

The development comes at a time of heightened regional tensions, with multiple conflicts and disputes continuing to affect stability across the Middle East and beyond. India, as a major regional power with significant interests in West Asian affairs, has underscored the importance of restraint and adherence to international norms by all parties involved in disputes.
