The trend has raised concerns among authorities about organised fraud networks exploiting both travellers and the visa exemption framework.

The High Commission urged prospective job seekers to exercise heightened caution when responding to employment opportunities and to verify offers through official channels before making travel arrangements. Officials advised verifying employer credentials through relevant government registries and cautioned against advance payments or financial commitments associated with job placements.

The advisory reinforces existing regulations governing the use of visa-free facilities, which are intended for legitimate travel purposes such as tourism and short-term visits. Authorities indicated that those found utilising the exemptions for unauthorised employment activities may face legal consequences and potential restrictions on future entry.
