Two workers have been killed and four others injured, including an Indian national, following a drone attack on a Saudi oil facility by Houthi militants. According to the Saudi authorities, the two fatalities were identified as nationals of Nepal and the Philippines, while those injured included workers from Pakistan and India.

The incident marks the latest in a series of attacks by the Iran-aligned Houthi movement against infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, which has been engaged in a prolonged conflict with the group in Yemen. The drone strike caused debris to scatter across the facility, resulting in injuries to the international workforce stationed there.

India has a significant expatriate population in Saudi Arabia and across the Gulf region, with many employed in the energy sector and other critical industries. Such incidents raise concerns about the safety of Indian nationals working in border regions and facilities vulnerable to militant attacks.

The attack is likely to prompt renewed discussions about security measures at key oil and gas installations in the kingdom, as well as the protection of foreign workers employed at these strategic sites. Regional analysts have warned that drone and missile capabilities possessed by the Houthis continue to pose a threat to regional stability and international commerce.
