India's Sheetal Devi and Payal Nag secured a silver medal in compound archery's women's doubles event at the Asian Para Games on Wednesday, after falling short against China's Xu Xueqing and Zhao Jing in the final.
Both competitors aged 19, the Indian duo could not overcome their Chinese opponents' strong performance, trailing throughout the match before conceding defeat with a final score of 141-150. Sheetal, who competes without arms, and Payal, a quadruple amputee, were unable to bridge the gap against their more dominant rivals.
The silver represents a repeat podium finish for Sheetal in this event, having won the same medal at the previous Asian Para Games edition when she partnered with Sarita Devi. The result underscores India's continued presence among medal winners at the continental para-sports championships.
