Sheetal Devi, the 19-year-old defending champion, stormed into the women's compound final after defeating Japan's Shinohara Aya 145-137 in the semifinal. Devi, who equalled the world record and set a new Asian record during the qualification round, will now face Singapore's Alim Nur Syahidah in the gold-medal clash.
Swati Chaudhary, competing in her maiden Asian Para Games, secured at least a silver medal in the women's W1 event by overcoming South Korea's Eunhee Lee 6-2 in the semifinal. The W1 classification encompasses athletes with significant functional impairment in strength, range of motion, or limb loss across all four limbs. Chaudhary will contest the final against China's Mengkan.
India's medal prospects in archery expanded further as the nation's recurve and compound mixed teams both advanced to the semifinals. The compound mixed team defeated Japan, while the recurve mixed team secured victory over Thailand. Paralympic gold-medallist Harvinder Singh was among those advancing to the next round, strengthening India's position across multiple archery disciplines at the Games.
