Indian Army personnel celebrate Diwali with rifle salutes and festive cheer

Indian Army jawans celebrated Diwali on military bases across the nation, observing the festival of lights with rifle salutes, religious ceremonies and displays of fraternal spirit despite being separated from their families.

Troops gathered at temple facilities within their barracks to participate in bhajans and traditional prayers, marking the occasion with ceremonial rites. Oil lamps were lit throughout the military compounds, illuminating the premises in the spirit of the festival that symbolizes the victory of light over darkness.

Following the religious observances, personnel exchanged Diwali greetings and shared traditional sweets. The celebrations concluded with fireworks displays that lit up the night sky across various military installations, reflecting the joyous atmosphere despite the personnel being stationed far from their homes and families.

The celebrations underscored the strong bonds of comradeship within military units, as soldiers collectively observed one of India's most significant cultural and religious festivals while on active duty.
